Rittners School Of Floral Design
In Boston Presents....

Wired Water Design #3

Sunflowers are especially popular aren't they? I think that is in part because the bright yellow color gives a very cheerful, and positive feeling. We react optimistically to this flower on a very gut level. It is a nice flower to wake up to in the morning, to encounter on a breakfast table, or to have as a visual diversion at a work station. It makes us feel good. It makes us feel happy.

Notice that we have given our little Sunflower friend some arms!

The sunflower that we are using here is the mini sunflower variety. In spite of the fact that it is a smaller flower than the full sized varieties, the bloom still has considerable weight, compared to many other blossoms. By adding little "water wings" the flower is held secure. The little "arms" also add a bit of personality to the design as well. Our little sunflower friend seems to be smiling at us and saying "Hello!"

Yes we can be futuristic in technique, but still maintain a sense of the personal and of the whimsical!!
